The short film explains an idea and
ideas that already exists; the human race is cloning one anther therefore the
human race can survive future wars and epidemics and hunger (it is a way of achieving
immortality).
A lot of sci-fi films speak about this idea of time traveling and people contacting people form the distant future, for example total recall 2014 and terminator 2 and star trek, where they teleports the ship crew from the ship to earth and vise versa, and there is many more.
The idea has been around since a long time, for instance that book that came out in 1895 called the time machine; it was influential for the public in bringing forward the idea of time travel to the people imagination.
The movie spoke about concepts that already exists and some are even used today, for instance when Emily from the 3rd generation contacted Emily prime by this video monitor or a communication unite, she had told her that I'm you but I'm the clone and you are the original, and when she is old enough she will be impregnated with clone of herself, she began talking to her throw a monitor like computer with a similar like keyboard with lots of buttons than the usual keyboard, with a robotic voice suggesting that in the future the human race will be programmed like robots, and will be cybernetic organism (cyborg) with both organic- living organs and biomechatronic body parts.
Emily from the 3rd generation her clone, transported or transferred her physically (like we transfer data across the internet but physically) Emily prime from her timeline to her clone timeline where she live in the outernet. In our mean time we have the technology to transfer someone visually with Nano technology, someone’s image can be transferred from one place to another using hologram, it’s only the image that is transferred, and we can also capture our memories on photos and videos and upload them to a hard disk or/and social media, just like Emily when she uploaded her conscience in the clone, it is sort of the same concept.
Emily 3rd generation used time travel to bring Emily prime to her place; Emily went on explaining what is the outernet to Emily prime, and then Emily 3rd generation said, “the people of your time where engaged with something called the Internet, welcome Emily to the outernet. We are now connected throw a neural network”, and the outernet is technologically advanced version of the Internet.
We all know that there was something called the ARPANET that was used by governments and military to communicate secretly among each other, and then ARPANET grow in to the Internet.
Now the intranet is a closed version of the Internet, it was used by really big cooperation’s such as Microsoft; intranet is a private network accessible only to an organization's staff throw LAN (local area networks) and WAN (wide area networks). Microsoft helped to make the technology accessible to a wider market.
3rd generation Emily additionally talked about how we have colonized the moon and put robots on the moon, and how they took vacations passes mars and the alien with a balloon. In real life we have already sent rovers to the moon to explore it, and are going to depart to mars in 2020.
3rd generation Emily also talked about harvesting a memory from Emily prime, where she was walking together with her mother.
Japanese scientists can now record a person dream and show it to them, and we can record a memory by capturing it on a video camera or by taking a picture. In conclusion what’s shown the movie is not impossible to achieve, and we are one step closer in achieving what the movie is talking about. Illustration used in the movie is not complicated, very simple and amusing, however the idea or the ideas in the movie is very advanced and very complex to grasp, but the movie explains it in a simple way, so that the audience can understand it. The movie is fun and entertaining and yet informative.
