**Award-Winning** Romance Short Film | Long Branch | Omeleto
**NOTICE**
This movie review that you are about to read only expresses my opinion about the movie and how I interpret it. You could have an entirely different opinion about it and have a different interpretation from mine. Enjoy!
This short movie succeeded to describe the characters of normal people and how to deal with a situation like this, and it was able to capture emotions and feelings in 13 minutes more than the 3 hours big budget movies, don’t get me wrong those movies are great and entertaining too, also some of them have wonderful actors who convey the story to the viewer and allows us to ride on the journey of the story with them.
The first thing we see when the movie starts, are two people kissing passionately in an ally somewhere in Toronto which is really attention grabbing to keep the viewer watching intensely, with the music sound coming from a club nearby for the viewer to stay interested in watching and eager to know what will happen next.
This short film explains what life is like in a big city and how people should be to each other in any situation, it is a romantic but not the excessive romance it simulates a real situation it speaks to the people who seek realism in every corner of their life.
Films nowadays are full of excessively sentimental melodramatic pictures and the film takes long hours for it to convey a love emotional story that will only happen in fairy tales, but this short romantic film contains a strong messages that in a way signifies that romantic nights and romance in general is not all colourful and full of rainbow or flowers at the beginning, and it may be not very obvious but something normal and has a profound and deep philosophical meaning behind it and behind the person doing it.
There is something I need to tackle in this movie and it is something clear, her calling him “but you are so nice” I don’t think what he did was so nice, giving your seat in the metro to a woman who is standing like the rest, is a nice act, but I would call what he did is a considerate act, someone who was aware of the situation they are both in, it’s night and it’s cold and there is no taxis, so he did what every good and thoughtful person would do.
This film or any film for that matter has something to say to the viewer, that people are good at heart and have so much to offer than just the surface we see, as the saying goes it is only the tip of the iceberg and not all icebergs are created equal, but it really sucks to find someone who is looking for love but takes this route instead, and she was looking for just lust and a random asshole to have sex with but ended up finding love and a guy who knows how to spell her name.
Maybe in the end when we grow up to become mature and start developing a life of our own and building our characters, we don’t get what we wish for but we get what we deserve and what is best for us.
